Pimpama Campus Opens New Building
On Wednesday 10 September we had the honour of welcoming Member for Coomera, Michael Crandon MP, and Federal Member Cameron Caldwell MP to our Pimpama Campus for the official opening of our new state-of-the-art primary classroom building.
Member for Coomera, Michael Crandon MP, performed the official opening and shared, 鈥淜ing鈥檚 Pimpama has a vital role bringing the community together in this fast-growing area of the Gold Coast.鈥
In his address, Principal Rob Verreynne expressed his gratitude to the Queensland Government for its significant support: 鈥淭he Queensland Government contributed $1.8m through the State Capital Assistance Scheme. We are indeed extremely grateful for the support of the State Government, which enabled this project to be undertaken.鈥
Pimpama is one of Queensland鈥檚 fastest-growing suburbs, with the northern Gold Coast鈥檚 population expected to double by 2041. Nearly 30% of residents are under 15, putting pressure on local schools. With Pimpama and Coomera schools at or near capacity, the Queensland Department of Education has flagged the area as a priority for new schools. Ongoing housing and infrastructure growth, including the Pimpama Train Station and Coomera Connector, will continue to bring families to the region and support the need for expanded education facilities.
The celebration reflected not only the growth of King鈥檚 Christian College Pimpama, but also our commitment to creating learning spaces that inspire, foster creativity, and encourage engagement. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a guided school tour and morning tea.
This landmark building, featuring 13 general classrooms, a specialist art room, and flexible learning spaces, will serve the growing needs of our school community for years to come.
We are deeply thankful to all who attended this special occasion.
